A Family Odyssey to Greece

Aboard Pantheon

Overview

Church on Santorini, Greece

Dates Jun 15 — Jun 26, 2008

Activity Level Moderately active

What better legacy could you leave your children than an appreciation for Western civilization? What if you could show the younger members of your family the view from the Acropolis to the Agora, where Socrates once taught; the ruins of the elaborate temples at Delphi, the perfumed grove high in the mountains where the Oracle prophesied; and the palace of Knossos, where the legendary Minotaur roamed? Bring your family to experience the historic treasures and scenic splendor of Greece next summer. Explore the great monuments and outstanding museums of Athens, and savor delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Then embark Pantheon and sail through sun-splashed azure seas to such sites as Mycenae, the legendary city of Agamemnon; Delos, birthplace of Apollo; Crete; the capital of the advanced Minoan culture; and Santorini, one of the most scenic islands in the Aegean. Young travelers will take part in fun, age-appropriate activities that will enhance their travel experience.

Accommodations

Cruise Ship

The Pantheon

The two-masted motorized sailing vessel Pantheon, launched in 2004, accommodates 50 guests and is attended by 18 crew members. Her total length is 164 feet with 8,000 square feet of sail. Two engines power the Pantheon, but when weather permits and the sails are unfurled, passengers can experience the true essence of sailing the Mediterranean Sea. The dining room accommodates all passengers in one seating and there are spacious decks for alfresco dining and sunbathing. The cabins all contain twin or queen beds, individual climate control, TV with movie options, and private bath; some can be converted to triples, increasing the Pantheon's passenger capacity to 58. Complimentary use of sea kayaks, windsurfers, and snorkeling equipment, easily accessible from the stern platform marina, add to your enjoyment.
